Lead Java Developer
About the role
The Lead Developer is the 2nd highest on the team. We need someone that is an initiative taker, someone that has a willingness to learn and getting uncomfortable learning new things and doing that repeatedly. This person will be coaching other Junior Developers and will be proposing ideas and solutions to the team. There will be production support in this role, and you will be responsible for all 3rd party applications that we bring in such as training platforms and core banking platforms. You will work with platforms such as Polypaths, Simcorp, Principia. There would be an on call of one week for a 10-week rotation. Could be called at night to help fix something. If an issue come up after hours, then you will work on providing temporary or permanent fixes when it happens. You will be handling design and enhancements and will be responsible for ensuring apps are communicating with other apps.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, relevant field and 7+ years’ experience, or 10+ years equivalent work experience.
- Technical Leadership with Architectural/Solution Design experience (including Security - Authentication and Authorization protocols)
- Java and Spring Ecosystem experience including restful Web Services and JPA Implementation
- Experience with Integration (Message Queues) and Micro Services Architecture
- Experience developing software using technologies such as Java, SQL, HTML, CSS, Angular, Bootstrap, Typescript, Node
- Experience with Java 8 or beyond and open-source frameworks (e.g., Spring Ecosystem, Hibernate, jUnit)
- Deep understanding of object-oriented design principles and patterns, application architecture, test driven development, and the software development lifecycle
- Experience with automated test, build, and integration techniques
- Leading development projects using automation associated with continuous integration, deployment, and release management
- Experience with development methodologies and principles including Agile, Scrum, and waterfall
- Experience with data driven design and development principles e.g. Integrations, APIs
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools such Gitlab
Qualifications
