Lead Java Backend Developer - Westlake, TX and Merrimack, NH - Fulltime Role

Location: Westlake, TX and Merrimack, NH (Onsite). No visa sponsorship available; only U.S. citizens and Green Card holders may apply.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Java/J2EE solutions using multi-layer architecture.
• Create and maintain API designs and RESTful microservices.
• Design database schemas, write PL/SQL, stored procedures, and transactional SQL for DB2 and Oracle.
• Implement cloud technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure).
• Establish CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, uDeploy, and Stash.
• Resolve technical roadblocks across multiple technologies.
• Ensure code-review effectiveness, unit-testing, and integration-testing completeness.
• Coordinate technical-component delivery across internal and external teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior team members.
• Contribute to process-improvement initiatives to increase product-team velocity.

Requirements

• 10+ years of Java development and messaging-based applications.
• Hands-on experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
• Proven expertise in API design and multi-layer architecture.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL, and ORM (JPA2, Hibernate).
• Expertise in Git and branching strategies.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or Information Systems.
• Strong collaboration, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Quick learner and team player.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• High productivity in Agile project delivery.
• Collaboration with DevOps to implement CI/CD (Jenkins, uDeploy), code-quality analysis (Sonar), application resiliency (HP Operations Orchestration), and process management (HP Service Manager, ServiceNow).
• Experience in financial services, especially Asset Management Technology with exposure to Alternative Investing (Derivatives, Liquid Alts, Private Equity).
• Project or people management experience.

About the Team

Our team delivers accounting and investment-management support services for mutual funds and other retail and institutional investment products. Responsibilities include calculating and distributing NAVs, distribution rates, yields, preparing fund financial statements, dividend estimates, tax returns, supervising fund-trade delivery to custodian banks, processing corporate actions, collecting securities income, balancing and reporting fund transactions, and leading fund liquidity.
