Lead ICAM Architect

About the role

Leads Deloitte's architecture strategy and technical direction for the VA's identity, credential, and access management environment. This role aligns identity services, integrations, security controls, and modernization efforts with Zero Trust objectives and operational requirements. The Lead ICAM Architect works across stakeholders to define scalable target‑state architecture, strengthen governance, and support secure access across enterprise platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture strategy for enterprise identity, credential, and access management capabilities in support of VA mission and security objectives.
• Define target‑state ICAM architecture, integration patterns, and technical standards across cloud, on‑premises, and hybrid environments.
• Guide modernization initiatives that align identity services and access controls with Zero Trust principles and federal security requirements.
• Partner with engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and program stakeholders to evaluate requirements, resolve architectural issues, and support implementation decisions.
• Oversee architectural governance, technical roadmaps, and solution reviews to improve scalability, interoperability, and operational performance.

We work across architecture, engineering, cybersecurity, and program stakeholders to modernize identity services, strengthen security controls, and advance Zero Trust objectives. This team focuses on scalable solutions, integration across platforms, and operational effectiveness in support of mission needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• 10+ years of experience in identity and access management, cybersecurity architecture, or enterprise architecture.
• 5+ years of experience designing or leading identity and access management solutions in complex enterprise environments.
• Experience with identity federation, single sign‑on, multi‑factor authentication, privileged access management, and directory services.
• Experience developing architecture artifacts, technical roadmaps, and system integration designs.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
• Preferred: Experience supporting federal government or public sector identity and access management programs.
• Preferred: Experience aligning architecture decisions to Zero Trust frameworks or federal cybersecurity guidance.
• Preferred: Experience with cloud identity platforms and hybrid identity integrations.
• Preferred: Experience leading architecture reviews, technical governance forums, or design authorities.
• Preferred: Experience with Identity Governance and Administration and Privileged Access Management implementations.
• Preferred: Advanced degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or a technical field.

Pay

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Virginia, the estimated compensation range is $135,500 to $229,100. Eligibility for a discretionary annual incentive program may also apply, subject to program rules and performance.
