Lead HVAC Service Technician
About the Role
Total Air Service is seeking a full-time Lead HVAC Service Technician to lead our growing service department in Willis, TX, conveniently located near Conroe, Montgomery, Huntsville, and The Woodlands. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a department, mentor technicians, and make a lasting impact while continuing to work in the field.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and installations
- Serve as the department's primary technical resource
- Conduct ride-alongs and provide coaching and training to technicians
- Perform quality control inspections
- Assist with hiring and technician development
- Support dispatch and office staff with technical questions
- Help resolve customer concerns
- Monitor KPIs and department performance
- Ensure every customer receives an exceptional experience
- Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation (approximately one week per month)
- Provide ongoing remote technician support to field technicians
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Must live within 30 minutes of our Willis, TX office
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Trade school graduate and EPA certification
- 5+ years of residential and light commercial HVAC experience
- Self-starter with reliability and flexibility with hours
- Strong leadership, troubleshooting, and customer service skills
- Understanding of current regulations within the field
- Excellent communication skills
- General knowledge of power tools and techniques for care and safe use
- Ability to safely perform the physical demands of the role, including:
- Climbing ladders and working in confined spaces
- Lifting and moving 75+ lbs
- Working both indoors and outdoors in extreme temperatures
- Wearing PPE
