Lead House Parent - Relocation Assistance Provided

Cal Farley's Boys Ranch is a nonprofit child and family service organization that provides residential family-style living in a rural setting for boys and girls in need of a safe, home-like environment.

About the role

As a House Parent, you will provide direct care services and create a home-like environment for children in need. You will play an instrumental role in fostering a positive and nurturing atmosphere, offering support, guidance, and positive reinforcement to help children build self-esteem and overcome difficult situations.

Responsibilities

• Live in your assigned cottage, helping to care for and provide for up to eight children
• Teach and lead cottage rules and daily routines
• Provide encouragement, guidance, and counseling to residents
• Participate in educational and recreational activities with the youth
• Ensure that all children's physical needs (food, shelter, etc.) are met
• Help children build self-esteem and gain skills to overcome difficult situations
• Act as a positive role model by demonstrating appropriate behaviors and attitudes

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in child care or related field is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Must be 21 or older
• Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

This position is based at our main campus in Boys Ranch, Texas, located approximately 40 miles northwest of Amarillo. Relocation to Boys Ranch is required.
