Full-time position, Monday through Friday.
About the role
Help clients maintain independence through homecare and personal assistance, and assist the manager with program and administrative support.
Responsibilities
- Perform on-call duties including answering the on-call phone in a timely manner, checking and updating schedules, covering shifts, resolving issues, and updating the manager.
- Maintain timely and accurate communication with management; report on and provide input into the client’s individual care record.
- Observe client functioning, identify and report changes to the supervisor or employer.
- Follow the client’s written Plan of Care, including assistance with household chores such as cooking, meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry.
- Assist clients with activities such as shopping and appointments outside the home; provide required receipts and documentation for essential shopping and/or errands.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living and personal care.
- Complete appropriate records documenting daily activities, observations, and direct hours of service.
- Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, and colleagues with dignity, respect, honesty, and fairness.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Background check clearance required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the home care field, comparable human services capacity, or experience caring for a dependent child or adult family member preferred.
- Documented, supervised training equivalent to eight (8) hours of homecare aide training within the past two (2) years preferred.
- Successful completion of RN, LPN, MD, physician assistance, or CNA training preferred.
- Previous experience as a CCP Home Care Aide preferred.
- Verified and documented current HCA completing LSSI-designated specialized training preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to show compassion for clients’ needs and to be an active listener.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and comprehensibly, both verbally and in writing.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing for the state of residency required.
- Access to reliable transportation required.
- Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage (bodily injury and property damage) required.
