Summary
This position helps supervise the golf cart staff and ensures that all golf cart operation duties and responsibilities are completed. Responsibilities include assisting Golf Cart Management with training employees; planning, assigning and ensuring work is completed; appraising and reporting performance to supervisor and manager; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Responsible For
- Report potentially unsafe conditions.
- Aid Golf Cart Management with training employees.
- Plan, assign, and ensure work is completed.
- Appraise and report performance to supervisor and manager.
- Address complaints and resolve problems.
- Provide punctual and consistent communication to supervisor and manager regarding daily operation.
- Complete all department opening procedures, closing procedures, and any daily tasks assigned by the Golf Cart Supervisor or manager during shifts.
- Ensure golf cart cleaning standards are adhered to including the coordination and execution of cart detailing programs.
- Report any damage to golf carts to operations manager.
- Conduct golf cart inspections & perform first echelon maintenance when necessary.
- Maintain inventory of towels, tees, divot repair sand, and any necessary repair equipment.
- Stage & detail golf carts each morning before play.
- Fold towels and refill sand bottles to replace in clean carts.
- Properly prepare golf carts in staging area for any corporate/group outings.
- Keep golf cart return area (tunnel & member bag drop) clear of any traffic backups.
- Thoroughly clean out all trash left in carts.
- Wash any sand, dirt, or grass off the floorboards and exterior of the golf carts.
- Detail golf carts on a regular basis as requested.
- Return personal belongings left by Members, Guests, Visitors, Business Partners and fellow Employees to the Main Golf Shop.
- Identify and retrieve abandoned carts.
- Keep workspace clean each evening by taking out the trash, dirty towel bins, sweeping cart return areas, cleaning the wash ramp of any debris, and clearing out drains of any blockage.
- Park all carts accounted for in the fleet and charge them each evening after play.
- Any missing carts must be reported.
- Must be aware of surroundings with an understanding of a golf environment.
- Must have the ability to see and react to the surroundings including errant golf balls.
- Ability to understand and follow proper golf etiquette while completing tasks.

- Directly supervises cart basement employees.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Train employees.
- Plan, assign, and direct work.
Physical Demands
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Sometimes lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally sit, climb or balance.
- Sometimes stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and extreme heat.
- Moderate noise level in the work environment.
