About the role
The Lead Global Sourcing Manager role is categorized as hybrid, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week reporting to Warren, MI. The role involves leading a global Creativity Team (CT) and managing sourcing processes, supplier negotiations, and budget execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a robust commodity strategy based on market and technology trends.
- Maintain sourcing pipeline and Business Over Time, benchmarking data, CT strategy presentations, global budget and on-time metrics for the entire CT.
- Manage global Creativity Team and ECT meetings with support and collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Develop and execute a business plan to meet material performance goals.
- Support global counterparts to address operational issues and align the global strategy for future programs and supplier management.
- Keep abreast of trends that impact the CT—be it market, technology or changes in the supply base.
- Ensure adherence to corporate and unit purchasing and accounting practices and procedures for yourself and the larger team.
- Utilize the GPSC sourcing process to manage sourcing packages (RFQ, Quote Analysis and Source Selection) and to establish a capable/competitive global supply base.
- Analyze and apply appropriate tools, i.e., benchmarking, global competitive sourcing, value chain analysis, supplier negotiations, engineering change cost containment, technical cost reduction, part/system reuse, etc.
Requirements
- 5+ years relevant work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics or product development.
- Ability to Travel 15% of time, both domestically and internationally.
- Proficient in completing tasks autonomously, without coaching.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Finance, related field.
- Experience with commodities.
- Cost analysis or manufacturing experience.
- Automotive industry experience.
- Knowledge of Capacity and Materials Management.
- Knowledge of contract law as it applies to the purchasing processes.
- Experience with strategy development and budget management.
