Lead Geologist - Site Investigation & Remediation
About the role
This Opportunity WSP is seeking a Lead Geologist with 7 or more years consulting experience to join our Pacific Northwest Site Investigation & Remediation Team. We offer flexible working arrangements to help with work/life balance, and have offices in Tigard, OR and Redmond, WA.
Responsibilities
- Help solve problems and document solutions
- Express ideas through strong technical writing and verbal communication
- Support technical reports, plans, and calculations in a consulting environment
- Work on a variety of multi-disciplinary projects, with substantial emphasis on soil, soil vapor/gas, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and stormwater investigations and remediation systems; chemical fate and transport assessment; hazardous waste management; permitting; and site planning
- Provide guidance on green and sustainable remediation techniques for a variety of clients who would like to minimize their carbon footprint
- Support litigation projects through cleanup cost evaluation and preparing materials for mediation and expert testimony
- Perform complex technical tasks under oversight of more experienced technical reviewers/directors as appropriate
Requirements
- B.S. or higher in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related discipline
- 7 or more years post-education environmental consulting experience
- Professional registration in Oregon or Washington (preferably both) if a Geologist/Hydrogeologist
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Consistent and highly accurate project work
- Able to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills
- Comfortable working within both small and large project teams to achieve objectives
- Able to work in industrial and field environments as well as in the office
- Proficient with MS Office: Excel, Word, and Outlook, in particular
- Prominent track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Able to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree is preferred
- 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred
- Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired

Pay
Expected Salary (all locations): $108,600 - $150,000
