About the role

Citi is seeking a Lead AI/GenAI Engineer to join the AI Automation Forward Deployed Engineering team within Consumer Operations Technology. This senior hands-on role focuses on the design, development, and deployment of intelligent operations and automation platforms using generative AI solutions. The engineer will build and operationalize AI models while ensuring compliance and security, influence technical strategy, and contribute to high-impact AI delivery in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the hands-on development and delivery of intelligent operations solutions.
• Fine-tune and deploy open-source LLMs and implement RAG pipelines.
• Architect and implement robust AI safety frameworks and guardrails.
• Design and deploy scalable AI pipelines using Python and containerization.
• Ensure AI models adhere to strict risk management and financial data security standards.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of LLM architectures and AI orchestration frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Google Vertex AI and deploying open-source models.
• Proven experience implementing deterministic controls and bias detection in AI systems.
• Expert-level Python skills, including AI/ML libraries and API development.
• Strong experience with containerization and cloud-native application delivery.
• Experience in financial services technology and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead AI and automation programs from concept to production.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.

Pay

$125,760 - $188,640 per year
