We are looking for an outstanding customer service professional to join our team as a Lead Gate Attendant. This is a full-time hourly role focused on access management and communication, without security enforcement, patrol duties, or law enforcement activities.

About the role

The Lead Gate Attendant monitors entry and exit activity at the community gate, assists residents and guests, and provides exceptional customer service. The schedule is 6:00 AM–10:00 PM daily, including holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Greet owners and guests as they enter the gate with the highest level of customer service.
  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of residents and visitors through the dwellingLIVE gate access computer system, checking valid IDs to confirm visitors are allowed on property.
  • If a guest is not on the list, attempt to make contact with the owner. If contact can’t be made, deny entry to the property.
  • Maintain regular and positive communication with each owner and abide by the culture created to enhance and promote daily positive interaction among team members.
  • Monitor, log, and screen messages, providing managers with necessary details for follow-through.
  • Report safety, mechanical, or operational concerns to Management.
  • Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Stand and walk for long periods with a pleasant disposition to greet residents and guests cordially.
  • Hear to receive telephone calls and interact with residents.
  • Complete data entry into various systems in support of business needs.
  • Work effectively with co-workers, clients, and others by sharing ideas constructively and respecting diversity.
  • Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and meet schedules.
  • Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional materials.
  • Participate in meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, and maintain knowledge of new developments, requirements, policies, and guidelines.
  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work.
  • Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management.
  • Perform any range of special projects, tasks, and other related duties as assigned.
  • Assist the General Manager and Assistant General Manager with scheduling of Gate Attendants and procedural implementation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in English; Spanish or other languages a plus.
  • Valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, independently, and prioritize time effectively.
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems creatively.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Finger dexterity for typing and using a keyboard.
  • Hearing to place and receive telephone calls and use voicemail system; talking and hearing occur continuously.
  • Open to moving around the facilities if necessary.
  • May be required to work overtime as needed and approved by supervisor.
  • Consistent and regular attendance required.

Pay

$20–21.50 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities.
