Lead Door Attendant
About the role
The door attendant is primarily responsible for assisting patients and guests to and from cars, courtesy vans, shuttle buses, or taxis, while establishing and maintaining a pleasant and helpful relationship. This will include offering direction support, mobility assistance, and answering general questions which might be asked by our guests. Other responsibilities include keeping the patient loading zones clear, transporting patients, their personal belongings, or selected medical devices, calling, recording, and monitoring taxi cabs and courtesy vehicles daily for patients and visitors. Assisting with traffic control in drive-up lanes to ensure safety of everyone traversing through these areas.
Responsibilities
- Assists patients and guests to and from cars, courtesy vans, shuttle buses, or taxis.
- Establishes and maintains a pleasant and helpful relationship with patients and guests.
- Offers direction support, mobility assistance, and answers general questions.
- Keeps patient loading zones clear.
- Transports patients, their personal belongings, or selected medical devices.
- Calls, records, and monitors taxi cabs and courtesy vehicles daily for patients and visitors.
- Aids and supports valet operations as directed.
- Sanitizes any equipment used to support patients.
- Assists with traffic control in drive-up lanes to ensure safety.
- Performs wheelchair recovery as required.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous hospital or clinical experience is preferred.
- Previous experience as a door attendant is preferred.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Requires good communication, telephone, and human relations skills to interact with patients, guests, and staff.
- Strong problem-solving skills are necessary.
- Must be able to adapt to unpredictable situations and stress.
- Works varied hours which may include days, evenings, days/evenings, holidays, and weekends with rotating days off.
- Must have a valid driver's license and an excellent driving record.
