The Role

This position will work closely with our business partners to create custom, cloud-based solutions as part of the leading edge Educe Software Practice. You will guide a team of full-stack developers, contribute directly to product development, and help shape the technical direction of our platform while ensuring high standards of code quality, delivery, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate project effort estimates and staffing assessments for development projects.
  • Contribute directly to product development by writing, reviewing, and maintaining high-quality, scalable, testable code.
  • Analyze, design, and document technical solutions that meet business needs across the full software development lifecycle.
  • C Conduct comprehensive code reviews enforcing engineering, coding, and design standards.
  • Guide the team in designing effective, efficient, scalable, and secure applications within the Educe Cloud software platform.
  • Define and enforce the company’s software development methodology in collaboration with engineering leadership.
  • Proactively identify technical risks in project deliverables and platform architecture and develop mitigation plans.
  • Stay current with emerging technology, AI tools and development innovations to enhance product and team performance.
  • Support enterprise software deployment, maintenance, and ongoing product improvements.

Technical Expertise

  • Web technologies: Responsive Design, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON
  • Web services: REST and SOAP implemented using NodeJS and Express
  • Relational and non-relational databases: MySQL/AWS Aurora
  • Modern DevOps tools and techniques including GitHub, CI/CD, and Docker
  • Enterprise application software installation and maintenance
  • Front End: Vue.JS, React, AngularJS
  • Experience incorporating Test Driven Development (TDD)
  • Experience with information security best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related technical/IT field from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum 10+ years full stack software development experience specific to the required technologies outlined above.
  • 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams including performance management.
  • Experience with full systems development lifecycle concepts, including supporting enterprise software product(s) in a production environment.
  • Proven ability to contribute to multiple products addressing diverse business challenges.
  • Capable of independently researching, analyzing, evaluating, and documenting issues, products, and solutions.
  • Ability to express oneself clearly in both verbal and written communication to technical and non-technical peers and stakeholders.
  • Passionate about customer service, producing high-quality deliverables, and follow-through.
  • Attention to detail, determined, and solution-oriented.
  • Ability to work autonomously, but also within a team environment.
  • Ability to travel to semi-annual firm meetings.
