Primary Responsibilities
- Maintains adequate staffing levels and efficient, effective workflow and scheduling.
- Provides training to phlebotomists to ensure competency.
- Provides data input for the payroll system in the absence of Supervisor and Phlebotomy Leaders.
- Acts as a technical resource for all difficult Phlebotomy blood draws for the institution.
- Ensures rounds are completed as scheduled and provides assistance, as needed, to maintain timelines of routine and STAT blood draws.
- Communicates lab issues and problems to Clinical Supervisor/Clinical Manager and recommends resolution.
- On a daily basis, interacts and communicates with customers including patients, site office manager, physicians, and medical assistants.
- Shares on-call duties.
- Provides input for performance appraisals.
- Ensures 24/7 coverage for Inpatient Rounds.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Registration Phlebotomy Certificate preferred.
- Phlebotomy Certificate preferred.
- 1-3 years related work experience required.
- Basic familiarity with computers.
- Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.

- Intermittent breaks during the work day do not compromise the work.
- Work routine is fairly consistent, but employee needs to be able to use judgment to respond to events several times a week.

Health Care Status
- HCW1: Regular, day-to-day contact; both face-to-face and hands-on (having close contact within three feet for at least five minutes).
- Examples: physicians, clinical nurses, phlebotomist, medical assistants, PFT tech, and x-ray tech.
Pay Range
$24.26 - $32.64
