Job Description
The Lead Cabin Cleaning Agent provides day-to-day direction, guidance, and support to Cabin Cleaning Agents to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operation. This role serves as a working leader, performing all standard Cabin Cleaning Agent duties while coaching team members and modeling exceptional performance.
This role is responsible for coordinating and balancing resources, coaching employees, and ensuring operational tasks are completed in compliance with customer instructions, safety standards, and plays a key role in supporting an on-time, safety-focused aircraft turn while fostering teamwork and upholding service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Always promote and maintain a culture of safety.
- Maintain operational targets while meeting service, timeline, safety, and compliance requirements.
- Assume responsibility and accountability for the team and team members while leading, coaching, and motivating the team's work.
- Perform station leadership duties such as assigning flights for the day, scheduling and managing agents on a week-to-week basis.
- Recognize and celebrate individual and team performance.
- Monitor team activities, ensuring that each team member follows proper operational and safety procedures and customer service standards, and verbally coach and recognize agents to reinforce and improve behaviors.
- Investigate operational, safety, and performance irregularities with focus on future prevention; Communicate findings and recommend improvements.
- Provide a comprehensive briefing and handoff to the next shift to ensure a seamless operation and overall benefit to the team and station.
- Mentor station agents, both newly trained and experienced, in all station agent job functions.
Qualifications
- 6 months of direct work experience in the specific duty (ramp, cabin cleaning, etc).
- Demonstrated skills in proactive and honest communication, providing direction and allowing team members to execute tasks, setting clear expectations and holding others accountable.
- Self-motivated, with proven ability to lead and direct the work of others in a positive way.
- Able to provide specific and constructive feedback as well as positive recognition.
- Able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong active listening skills.
- Must be able to work well in a team environment and understand team objectives.
- Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
- Able to perform basic mathematical functions (e.g., counting bags, verifying cargo weights).
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to lift up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Able to understand and interpret flight schedules and airline flight destination information.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Able to obtain & maintain an airport SIDA badge, US Customs seal, and USPS security clearance.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Previous experience operating airport ground service equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
