About the role

We are looking for a highly capable, detail-oriented Lead Financial Reporting Analyst to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with deep technical accounting expertise related to complex investments and a strong foundation in external reporting within the financial services industry. The role offers the opportunity to guide reporting activities, support a small team, and help strengthen reporting processes through thoughtful analysis and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and review of financial reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze accounting treatment and disclosure requirements for derivatives, alternative investments, and other sophisticated financial instruments.
  • Support SEC and annual reporting activities, including the development of clear, well-supported financial statement disclosures and earnings-per-share reporting.
  • Oversee key reporting workflows and provide direction to two direct reports, fostering accountability, development, and high-quality output.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve complex reporting matters and align financial information across departments.
  • Evaluate existing reporting processes and implement improvements that enhance efficiency, control, and consistency.
  • Perform detailed financial analysis to explain reporting results, identify issues early, and support informed decision-making.
  • Research emerging accounting guidance and reporting developments to determine business impact and recommend appropriate actions.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including significant exposure to financial reporting and complex investment-related accounting.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of derivatives, alternative investments, or other complex financial instruments.
  • Background in public accounting, ideally with experience at a senior or newly promoted manager level within audit or assurance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others, with readiness to manage and develop direct reports.
  • Experience preparing or supporting SEC filings, annual financial reporting, and related disclosures.
  • Solid understanding of earnings-per-share calculations and broader external reporting requirements.
  • Proven analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to navigate complex accounting issues with sound judgment.
  • Experience contributing to process improvement or cross-functional initiatives is preferred.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000.
