Lead Field Technician / Field Service Technician (Water Meter)

Location: Montgomery County & Prince George's County, MD Job Type: Contract | W2 Work Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite Job Summary We are hiring experienced Lead Field Technicians and Field Service Technicians for a long-term municipal water utility project. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with hands-on experience in water meter installation, replacement, maintenance, testing, and repair. The role involves performing field service work at residential and commercial locations, troubleshooting water meter systems, meter pits, and meter vaults while maintaining high safety standards. Responsibilities Install, replace, maintain, test, and repair residential and commercial water metersPerform field investigations and troubleshoot water meter issuesInstall remote meter reading devices and related equipmentWork with meter pits, meter vaults, curb boxes, and water distribution systemsComplete daily field reports and required documentationSafely operate hand and power toolsTravel to multiple customer locations throughout Montgomery County and Prince George's CountyFollow all safety procedures and company guidelines Required Qualifications Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience installing, replacing, maintaining, or repairing water metersExperience working with municipal water utilities, water distribution systems, or utility contractorsExperience with residential and commercial water metersValid driver's licenseMust own or be willing to rent a suitable work truck (pickup truck, utility body truck, cargo van, or flatbed)Must have or be willing to obtain commercial auto insurance for the work vehicleComfortable working outdoors in all weather conditionsAbility to lift up to 90 lbs and work in confined spaces when required Preferred Qualifications Experience with AMI/AMR or remote meter reading systemsUtility construction or underground utility experienceWater distribution or public works experienceOSHA 10/30 CertificationCPR / First Aid Certification Benefits $700–$800 monthly vehicle/travel allowanceWeekly payPaid sick leaveLong-term assignment with stable weekday scheduleGrowth opportunities into Lead Field Technician positions Apply Now If your experience matches the above requirements, please send your updated resume to krishna@meritore.com or call (703) 673-7133 Ext. 113 for more information.
