About the role

The Field Lead – Critical Infrastructure is a senior field execution role supporting hyperscale and colocation data center construction projects ranging from 40 MW to 200 MW. This role operates as the primary execution lead for assigned scopes, zones, or workstreams under the direction of the Site Superintendent.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day field execution for assigned scopes, zones, or workstreams.
  • Direct STC field labor and coordinate subcontractors and trade partners within assigned areas.
  • Coordinate daily activities across trades including electrical, mechanical, automation, controls, networking, and commissioning.
  • Participate in daily coordination meetings, site walks, and trade alignment discussions.
  • Resolve routine field conflicts and sequencing issues; escalate complex issues to the Site Superintendent.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6–8 years of experience in field execution roles within mission-critical, hyperscale, or complex MEP construction environments.
  • Demonstrated experience directing field crews and coordinating subcontractors.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, safety practices, and quality control.
  • Experience working under a Site Superintendent or Project Superintendent in large-scale projects.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and schedules.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, and high-risk construction activities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across trades and escalate effectively.
  • Proficiency with construction field tools and platforms (e.g., Procore, BIM 360, Autodesk Build, or similar).
  • Ability to operate independently within defined scope while aligning with site leadership direction.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent walking and inspecting active construction areas, including ladders, stairs, and uneven terrain.
  • Frequent movement through indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to heat, cold, precipitation, dust, and noise.
  • Sometimes required to position self under or over equipment, including in confined spaces.
  • Frequent lifting or moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent wearing of PPE and working in high-decibel environments.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in construction execution, subcontractor coordination, and field leadership roles.

  • Ability to resolve issues in real time while escalating risks, conflicts, and scope gaps appropriately.

Pay

The Pay Range For This Role Is 99,750 - 120,225 USD per year(Remote)

Schedule

Full-time, daily presence at the assigned project site. Willingness to work extended hours and night shifts during critical construction, testing, and commissioning windows. Up to 25% travel to other STC job sites as business needs require. Valid REAL ID or passport required for domestic travel. Travel may occur by car or air depending on project requirements.
