Lead Field Service Technician

Responsibilities and Expectations

• Perform vibration analysis, thermographic imaging, and various electrical tests while diagnosing and repairing units.
• Lead jobs and other service technicians in the field.
• Represent the company in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
• Avoidance of job hazards through the completion of a field service safety checklist.
• Install/Remove AC and DC electric motors, laser align equipment, read precision measuring tools, replace sleeve and anti-friction bearings, set seals, air gaps, torque critical components to proper specs.
• Strong problem-solving skills, including thinking outside the box to get the customer back online quickly and safely.
• Effective communication with FS Manager, FS Coordinator, and customers.

Qualifications and Competencies

• PdMA testing experience preferred.
• Level I Vibration Analysis preferred.
• 4+ years of AC/DC motor experience preferred.
• Laser shaft alignment experience preferred.
• PLC, Instrumentation, Controls experience preferred.
• 480V – 4160V Variable Frequency Drive troubleshooting experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions with precise execution.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work procedures, and apply strong analytical problem-solving dynamics in a continuous improvement environment.
• Strong customer focus with professional communication.
• Available and willing to work flexible hours, overtime, and weekends as required, and willing to be on call.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
• Must have the ability to perform math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and understand fractions and percentages.
