About the role
The Lead Facilities Technician – HVAC Mechanic (Lead Tech – Facilities) position is responsible for ensuring the reliable and consistent operation of building systems for mechanical rooms, offices, labs, clean rooms, and support areas within a semiconductor wafer fab facility.
Responsibilities
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on HVAC units, motors, water pumps, scrubbers and other facilities equipment;
- Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications;
- Troubleshoot malfunctions;
- Perform a wide range of tasks, including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production and facilities equipment;
- Lead compliance with safety standards and supports predictive and preventative maintenance programs as well as the execution of small-scale projects, all aimed at achieving the sites operational goals and business objectives;
- Lift of 40-50 lbs required for this position.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8+ years’ of applicable experience gained in a corporate facilities maintenance or other industrial setting and an AS/AA degree or other 2 year post High school education, training or certification in lieu of Associates degree;
- 5+ years’ experience as an HVAC Mechanic with strong trouble shooting skills to include general knowledge of Pneumatic controls, thermostats and VAV Boxes;
- 5+ years’ experience working on large air/water cooled chillers, servicing and repairing environmental-control systems associated with mechanical systems as well as performing other maintenance-related tasks, such as troubleshooting and maintaining pump systems, compressed air, vacuum systems, cooling towers and the associated systems involved with their operation;
- 5+ years’ experience working with water distribution systems such as Pumps and RO’s;
- 5+ years’ experience and proficiency in the maintenance of large “custom” and cleanroom air handlers including thorough understanding of heating and ventilation systems for cleanrooms, electronics labs, and environmental lab areas;
- Active California state driver’s license.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Work within OSHA and Raytheon safety policies and procedures, as applicable, to ensure that safety is the highest priority in the workplace;
- General knowledge and concept of small hand tools and usage;
- Familiarity with MS Office Business Suite applications;
- Ability to work from manuals, blueprints, drawings, layouts, wiring diagrams, or other specifications and provide support and assistance to technicians/colleagues for various tasks as needed;
- Experience with building automation and control programs.
