Lead Facilities Technician - East

About the role

The Lead Maintenance Technician will oversee the maintenance of a healthcare facility, ensuring it is safe, functional, and clean for patients, visitors, and staff. This position involves operating, troubleshooting, repairing, and preventingly maintaining various hospital equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an environment of care by ensuring the facility is safe, functional, and clean.
• Ensure all critical, life safety, and equipment systems are maintained to support efficient operational readiness.
• Operate, troubleshoot, repair, and preventively maintain a broad variety of hospital equipment and systems.
• Perform construction tasks for improvements to the hospital furnishings, equipment, and systems.
• Work with peers in a team setting to achieve department and hospital goals.
• Pursue self-learning and provide training to others on procedures, equipment, and system operations.
• Serve as a Maintenance resource to monitor the operation, status, and safety of hospital equipment and systems.
• Complete all assigned corrective and preventive maintenance work orders according to the designated schedule to comply with regulatory requirements.
• Document all work timely and accurately to meet department and hospital regulatory requirements.
• Model proper work methods and share repair, preventive maintenance, and construction techniques with less experienced colleagues.
• Provide guidance and instruction to lesser skilled co-workers to enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the team.

Requirements

• Five (5) years of experience in facility maintenance, and/or relatable industrial, commercial, or institutional experience, and/or construction with hospital maintenance experience required.
• A High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Five (5) years of experience in facility maintenance, and/or relatable industrial, commercial, or institutional experience, and/or construction with hospital maintenance experience preferred.
• Technical school graduate or five (5) years on the job training in facility maintenance preferred.
• Required Certifications/Licenses: Boiler Operator, Electrician, Plumber, Pipe Fitter, HVAC Technician, Refrigeration Technician, Carpenter, Fire Alarm Technician, Journeyman Painter, or a college degree in a technical/engineering field.

Qualifications

• Exceptional skills in maintenance principles, theories, and operations.
• Working knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
• Good oral and written communications skills, including reading and writing at a high school graduate level.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
