Lead Event Specialist
About the role
The Associate is responsible for completing in-store food and non-food demonstrations. They acquire and maintain knowledge of products represented, serve, demonstrate, intercept consumers, and sell products professionally. They manage and maintain event execution equipment, communicate with store management during absence of the Supervisor, assist other Event Specialists, provide leadership, and possess the ability to gain adequate knowledge of products.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain event equipment and supplies to ensure cleanliness and secure placement in the backroom.
- Communicate with store management regarding upcoming and past events when the Supervisor is absent.
- Act as the point person for all events in the store when the Supervisor is absent.
- Aid in event kit, material, and tool preparation as needed.
- Provide leadership and knowledge to the team.
- Possess the aptitude and ability to gain knowledge of products represented and proactively engage consumers to sell products.
- Perform all job responsibilities assigned, including assisting with preparation for client visits, completing expense reports, preparing and submitting on-line requirements, taking digital photos, and maintaining a clean, sterile, and safe workstation.
- Assist with building and maintaining rapport with store personnel to meet company and client objectives.
- Complete audit corrections and prepare and submit all on-line requirements on the same day as event execution.
- Document success stories for clients by taking digital photos of the Event Table setup.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient ability to use and navigate on a personal computer and personal mobile device using applications and internal systems.
- Food Safety Professional Certification, local food handlers permit if required.
Physical Demands
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, read instructions, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb (including use of a 6' ladder), balance, lift and carry up to 25 pounds (including occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds), push and pull a wheeled demonstration cart fully laden with appliances, supplies and product.
- Prepare foods using raw products (e.g., meats, poultry), using cooking utensils such as knives, convection oven, coffee maker, electric fryer, microwaves.
- Be in contact with cleaning supplies.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Point of contact when Supervisor is absent.
Working Conditions
- Retail store environment with limited travel.
Physical Appearance
- Ensure a professional appearance and proper grooming is in order.
Language Skills
- English is the primary language skill; however, bilingual skills may be required based on business necessity.
