Part-time in-store demonstration role (typically under 25 hours per week).

About the role

As an Associate you will conduct food and non-food demonstrations in retail stores, engage consumers, and drive product sales. You will also manage event equipment, maintain a professional appearance, and support team leadership when the Supervisor is absent.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, maintain, and secure event equipment and supplies in the store backroom.
  • When the Supervisor is absent, act as the in-store point person for all events, communicating with store management about upcoming and past events.
  • Assist other Event Specialists with event kits, materials, and tools as needed.
  • Provide leadership and product knowledge to the team.
  • Proactively intercept, engage, and sell products to consumers in a positive manner.
  • Communicate product features and benefits effectively.
  • Prepare and serve food samples—including raw meats, produce, and eggs—while complying with food-safety guidelines.
  • Use small appliances such as microwaves, fryers, skillets, coffee makers, and knives to prepare samples.
  • Maintain a clean, sterile, and safe workstation using cleaning chemicals.
  • Set up and break down the event table professionally.
  • Complete all assigned work and online reporting on the same day as the event.
  • Assist with client visits and audit corrections.
  • Build rapport with store personnel to meet company and client objectives.
  • Complete expense reports per company policy.
  • Take digital photos of perfect table setups to document success stories for clients.
  • Report all work-related injuries to your direct supervisor immediately.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in using personal computers and mobile devices with company applications and internal systems.
  • Food Safety Professional Certification and local food-handler permit if required.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach overhead, talk, and hear.
  • Visual ability to read instructions and perform responsibilities.
  • Frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, climb (including use of a 6-foot ladder), and balance.
  • Lift and carry up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds).
  • Push and pull a fully laden wheeled demonstration cart.
  • Prepare foods using raw products (e.g., meats, poultry) and cooking utensils (knives, convection oven, coffee maker, electric fryer, microwaves).
  • Be in contact with cleaning supplies.

Working Conditions

  • Retail store environment with limited travel.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and adhere to retailer-specific dress codes.

Skills

  • Primary language skill: English; bilingual skills may be required based on business needs.

Pay

$16.50 per hour.
