Lead Event Specialist
About the role
The Associate is responsible for completing in-store food and non-food demonstrations. They acquire and maintain knowledge of products represented, serve, demonstrate, intercept consumers, and sell products professionally. They manage and maintain event execution equipment, communicate with store management during absence of the Supervisor, assist other Event Specialists, provide leadership, and assist the Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain event equipment and supplies to ensure cleanliness and secure storage in the agreed-upon area of the backroom.
- Communicate with store management regarding upcoming and past events when the Supervisor is absent.
- Act as the point person for all events conducted in the store when the Supervisor is absent.
- Aid in preparing and serving food samples, including raw meats, produce, and eggs, while adhering to food safety guidelines.
- Assist with the setup and preparation of the Event Table for execution.
- Complete all assigned tasks, assist with preparation for client visits, and complete audit corrections.
- Build and maintain rapport with store personnel to meet company and client objectives.
- Prepare and submit all online requirements on the same day as event execution and take digital photos of the perfect table setup.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; 1-3 months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in using and navigating personal computers and personal mobile devices using applications and internal systems.
- Food Safety Professional Certification and local food handlers permit if required.
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, read instructions, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb (including use of a 6' ladder), balance, lift and carry up to 25 pounds, push and pull a wheeled demonstration cart fully laden with appliances, supplies, and product.
- Ability to prepare foods using raw products (e.g., meats, poultry) and use cooking utensils such as knives, convection oven, coffee maker, electric fryer, microwaves.
- Physical appearance must be neat, clean, and appropriately groomed according to the retailer's dress code requirements.
Benefits
This role is not expected to exceed 25 hours per week, but the company reserves the discretion to change the role based on business and client needs. No benefits are offered for this position.
Pay
$18.50 per hour
Schedule
Part-time, with the possibility of increasing to full-time based on business needs.
Skills
Desire and ability to proactively intercept, engage, interact, and sell product to the consumer in a positive manner. Possess the aptitude and ability to gain adequate knowledge of the products represented. Ability to prepare and serve food samples, including raw meats, produce, and eggs, complying with food safety guidelines. Ability to prepare and serve food samples using small appliances such as microwaves, fryers, skillets, coffee makers, and knives. Properly set up and prepare the Event Table for execution. Complete all work assigned. Assist with preparation for client visits and complete audit corrections. Build and maintain rapport with store personnel to effectively meet company and client objectives. Prepare and submit all on-line requirements on the same day as Event execution. Take digital photos of Perfect Table Setup to document success stories for clients.
