About the role

The Associate is responsible for completing in-store food and non-food demonstrations, acquiring and maintaining product knowledge, serving and demonstrating products, managing event equipment, and assisting with various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain event equipment and supplies to ensure cleanliness and secure placement in the backroom.
  • Communicate with store management regarding upcoming and past events when the Supervisor is absent.
  • Act as the point person for all events in the store when the Supervisor is absent.
  • Aid other Event Specialists with event kits, materials, and tools as needed.
  • Provide leadership and knowledge to the team, assisting the Supervisor in fulfilling job responsibilities.
  • Gain and demonstrate knowledge of products represented, and proactively engage consumers to sell products.
  • Prepare and serve food samples, ensuring compliance with food safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, sterile, and safe workstation using appropriate cleaning chemicals.
  • Assist with preparation for client visits and complete audit corrections.
  • Build and maintain rapport with store personnel to meet company and client objectives.
  • Complete expense reports according to company policy.
  • Take digital photos of the setup for documentation purposes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One to three months' related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient computer skills, including navigation on a personal computer and personal mobile device
  • Food Safety Professional Certification, local food handlers permit if required

Physical Demands

  • Regularly stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, read instructions, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb (including use of a 6' ladder), balance, lift and carry up to 25 pounds, push and pull a wheeled demonstration cart fully laden with appliances, supplies and product, prepare foods using raw products (e.g., meats, poultry), use cooking utensils such as knives, convection oven, coffee maker, electric fryer, microwaves, be in contact with cleaning supplies.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Point of contact for all events when the Supervisor is absent.

Working Conditions

Retail store environment with limited travel.

Physical Appearance

Professional appearance and proper grooming are required.

Language Skills

English is the primary language skill; bilingual skills may be required based on business necessity.
