Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform technical evaluations and provide technical support in the areas of criticality safety and shielding, fluence evaluations, control rod blade, dose and decay heat analyses technical analyses.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate activities with internal and external project managers, technical personnel, and customers on engineering/technical issues.
  • Maintain and/or exceed baseline project schedule and cost in delivery of nuclear fuel reload engineering deliverables.
  • Prepare, document and present technical data to internal and external customers.
  • Contribute to team process improvements to drive speed and simplification.
  • Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with NRC, CNSC, or other regulatory rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in engineering, physics, or closely related science discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in nuclear radiological analysis, nuclear safety analysis and methods, or nuclear fuel, core, or plant design. A combination of advanced degrees and work experience may be considered.

Desired Characteristics

  • M.S. or Ph.D in Nuclear Engineering or closely related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Experience with BWR technology
  • Experience with sodium fast reactor technology
  • Knowledge of plant operational support
  • Knowledge of reactor licensing requirements
  • Experience with BWR simulator and use of 3-Dimensional neutron kinetics code (e.g., PANAC, PARCS)
  • Experience in reactivity control such as reactivity insertion accident, rod withdrawal error, control rod drop accident analyses
  • Experience with MCNP, SCALE, KENO, ORIGN, RADTRAD, GALE, and/or coupled Monte-Carlo/deterministic radiation transport methods
  • Experience with BWR/PWR system codes such as TRACG, RELAP, TRACE and/or equivalent safety analysis system codes
  • Object-oriented programming experience such as Java, C#, C++
