About the role

PROENERGY is an engineering, R&D, and manufacturing powerhouse addressing fast-start power generation needs. The company operates centers for excellence in manufacturing and lifecycle care, with investments in infrastructure and service centers globally.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the electrical discipline on projects, including executing change management and overseeing third-party engineering.
  • Execute and review electrical technical design, ensuring quality and adherence to standards.
  • Collaborate with the EPC team and clients to prepare deliverables such as load lists, power system studies, and single lines.
  • Review vendor documents to ensure specifications and data sheets meet requirements.
  • Mentor and develop team members, providing technical guidance and improving project quality.
  • Create and maintain department design guides, standards, and systems, promoting continuous improvement.
  • Lead quality checks and ensure accurate project design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited program.
  • Six (6) years of related work experience in substations, switchyards, fossil fuels, power, or generation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to present complex information effectively.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and independently apply knowledge while ensuring compliance with quality programs.
  • Experience in creating grounding, area class, power, single line, schematic, and motor control drawings, with knowledge of protective devices and coordination techniques.
  • Knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, API, NEC, NESC, and other industry codes, specifications, and standards.
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations, including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, harmonics, equipment sizing, large motor starting, grounding, transient stability, electromagnetic transients, insulation coordination, etc.
  • Strong technical proficiency in relay coordination and arc flash analysis, with experience programming protective relays.
  • Proactive in providing guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, and applicable engineering codes.
  • Experience managing project changes directly with clients, with supervision from the Project Engineering Manager.
  • Work safely and effectively, following oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.

Qualifications

  • Registered Professional Engineer in electrical discipline (Power Electrical, or I&C).
  • Possesses a strong foundation in power system principles and concepts, evidenced by relevant college coursework.
  • Aconex Document Controls software knowledge.
  • Clear understanding of construction and constructability practices & principles.
  • Working knowledge of procurement and contract administration, project controls, and estimating.
  • Basic business and financial acumen.
  • Owner or client engineering background.
