Lead Engineer, Manufacturing Process

About the Role

The Lead Engineer, Manufacturing Process is responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and optimizing processes for manufacturing to achieve quality, cost, and delivery goals for Celestica and its customers' products.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes to support customer products.
• Develop application software and tooling for a comprehensive set of complex machines and mechanical process steps within a manufacturing sector.
• Implement plans and lead the assessment of machine and process capabilities using Design of Experiments and statistical methods across the full manufacturing process.
• Ensure maximum utilization of critical resources, maximum throughput, minimum cost, and capacity growth.
• Lead a disciplined process for solving complex single-stage or multi-stage product, process, component, and related problems that affect the efficient operation and/or manufacture of products through the full manufacturing process.
• Initiate and lead assessments, providing feedback to product designers on the suitability of designs for manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-5 years of related experience, preferably in similar job roles within manufacturing or repair.

Skills

• Proficiency in Design of Experiments and statistical methods.
• Experience with application software development and tooling for complex machines and mechanical processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills for complex manufacturing issues.
• Ability to provide feedback on product designs for manufacturability.

Work Environment

Duties are performed in a normal office environment, requiring extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse) are frequent. Occasional travel may be required.
