A DAY IN THE LIFE
As a Lead Engineer – Major Projects Group, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of utility-scale energy infrastructure. Serving as the engineering lead during project development, you'll work directly with Owners, permitting agencies, engineering consultants, and internal teams to transform early-stage concepts into buildable, permitted projects ready for execution. Your day may involve:
- Evaluating potential project sites
- Developing conceptual engineering solutions
- Leading permitting strategies
- Reviewing third-party engineering deliverables
- Cooking with regulatory agencies
- Identifying engineering risks and opportunities before construction begins
You'll work across renewable energy, battery energy storage (BESS), gas generation, and data center power infrastructure, helping establish the technical foundation that drives successful project execution. You'll collaborate closely with Engineering, Estimating, Supply Chain, Project Management, Construction, and Owners to ensure projects are technically sound, permit-ready, and positioned for successful delivery.
