Lead Engineer (FDIC VASQ)
Job Summary
EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Lead Engineer to provide operations and maintenance support for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Arlington, VA. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Directs work to subordinate Local 99 engineers and other trades and/or other shops/unions/subcontractors.
- Schedules and assigns service calls and maintenance tasks.
- Makes physical inspections of work performed, equipment, and tests equipment for correct operation of all components of the refrigeration cycle and other relevant factors.
- Adjusts and performs minor repairs to mechanical and electrical equipment and component parts of heating and air conditioning systems and auxiliary support equipment.
- Provides technical support in the efficient and safe operation and maintenance of all mechanical equipment.
- Develops procedures/checklists, trains, and enforces standards, as required.
- Proposes operational changes to improve efficient use of the facilities' equipment.
- Sends detailed reports related to all operations and maintenance activities.
- Presents/briefs status on maintenance, repair, and ongoing RWO projects to management.
Qualifications
- Valid DC 3st Class Steam Engineer License.
- Prior experience as a watch supervisor.
- Proficient and knowledgeable in HVAC systems.
- Knowledgeable of operating related electrical equipment and machinery.
- Practical knowledge of Chiller Plant Operations and Building Air Systems.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
- Willingness to work shift work.
Physical Demands
- Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 lbs / push up to 100 lbs).
- Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking.
- Push/pull or move/lift equipment, supplies.
- Manual dexterity and mobility.
- Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.

Geographic Disclosure
Compensation Range: $49.98/hr. Other Compensation: N/A Benefits: Health and Welfare Benefits consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
