About the role
Lead the design, analysis, procurement, and integration of electrical power systems for a nuclear small modular reactor project.
Responsibilities
- Lead system architecture and integration of safety-related and non-safety electrical systems, including medium and low voltage distribution.
- Perform complex electrical studies such as load flow, short circuit, and relay coordination using ETAP software.
- Prepare engineering deliverables like specifications, load lists, schematics, and calculations, ensuring they meet standards and project requirements.
- Develop procurement specifications for major equipment and support regulatory compliance with nuclear standards.
- Interface with grid providers for connection agreements and grid stability.
- Apply relevant codes and standards (IEEE, IEC, NEC, CSA) in design.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in high-reliability industries such as nuclear, power, or oil & gas.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with electrical design tools, protection and control systems, and grid interface.
