Responsibilities
- Utilize experience and knowledge in public infrastructure design for projects ranging from private residences to K-12 campuses and commercial developments.
- Manage project delivery and utilize staff in a team atmosphere to produce projects from concepts through construction including project deadlines and completing projects on time and on budget.
- Perform hydrology calculations (Rational, SCS, NRCS, SBUH methods) and prepare stormwater quantity plans for jurisdictional approval.
- Lead project entitlement through jurisdictional land use planning and project permitting processes.
- Review construction documents for compliance with applicable codes such as Portland Stormwater Management Manual, ODOT Hydraulics Manual, Oregon Standard Specifications for Construction (ODOT/APWA), AASHTO Geometric Design of Highways and Streets, MUTCD, AASHTO Bicycle Facilities, Oregon Structural Specialty Code, and local agency design codes/manuals.
- Utilize construction administration experience to follow projects through review and processing of RFI's, material submittals, and periodic on-site construction observation.
- Collaborate with project partners (in-house disciplines, owners, architects, sub-consultants, etc.)
- Assist and instruct entry level staff on design, technical, and project management best practices.
- Perform project manager duties as required.
Requirements
- 4-year or 5-year bachelor's degree or master's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited university required.
- 5 years minimum postgraduate civil engineering experience, including but not limited to public roadway infrastructure, commercial & residential development, hydraulics & hydrology, and sanitary sewer & water resources.
- EIT is preferred but not required.
- Critical thinking with engagement skills coupled with a detailed execution of concepts in a deadline driven arena.
- Possess strong technical skills and an aptitude for project management.
- Ability to travel (occasionally) as we support projects around the state.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience with AutoDesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD Hydrograph's Hydraflow extension, Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis.
