Lead Engineer

About the role
The Lead Engineer is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general infrastructure. This role ensures optimal performance, safety, and efficiency of all building systems while leading a team of engineers and maintenance staff. The Lead Engineer serves as the primary technical expert on-site and collaborates closely with property management and vendors.
Responsibilities
- Develop work assignments for each employee.
- Handle special work assignments and trouble calls.
- Adhere to quality levels and standard practices for all work performed.
- Assist in training personnel in proper operating procedures and techniques.
- Enforce appropriate safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections.
- Operate mechanical and electrical equipment, which supply the job site with power, heat, refrigeration, air conditioning, and ventilation.
- Possess adequate license requirements for the facility.
- Create and maintain staff scheduling.
- Monitor HVAC systems and water treatment procedures.
- Manage electrical equipment implementation.
- Oversee operational manuals and logs, the safety program, the inventory control program, and the preventive maintenance program.
- Coordinate work order procedures, vendors, and the formal training program.
Requirements
- Supervision and coordination of all activities related to the operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and craft services.
- Function as a working group leader in these areas.
Pay
$56.52 per hour (weekly pay). The pay listed is the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.
