Responsibilities
- Manage a pod of engineers for the Voice AI product
- Lead by example as an individual contributor with high-quality code
- Own architecture and evolution of telephony and AI components
- Drive improvements in metrics related to call handling
- Collaborate with Product Managers for roadmap and product decisions
- Mentor engineers and manage team workload effectively
- Run pod processes and escalate issues as needed
- Participate in hiring for the Voice AI team
Qualifications
- 8+ years of engineering experience
- 2+ years of leadership experience in engineering teams
- Strong backend application development skills
- Hands-on experience with real-time or streaming systems
- Proven track record of delivering reliable, quality products at scale
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to handle ambiguity and take ownership in projects
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with conversational AI
- Telephony experience
- ASR/TTS provider experience
- AI system evaluation experience
Pay
$120,000 – $160,000 annually

Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
