Knowledge of software and hardware test requirements, specifications, and how they are converted into automated test and operational flight programs, along with a knowledge of test system instrumentation and their appropriate design application to engineering testing requirements, and how they integrate with avionics software and hardware systems and of the OFP development environment to effectively accomplish assigned functions and fulfill the mission. 4. Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and security requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations, TOs, and/or directives. 5. Skill at software/hardware integration and troubleshooting and at applying professional judgment in identifying the strengths and weaknesses of alternative approaches and in devising solutions or conclusions to highly complex problems, both programmatic and technical. 6. Ability to plan, conduct, and record engineering investigations and inspections; to research, analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to a variety of situations and to recommend timely and economical solutions; to plan and organize work and coordinate with other engineering disciplines; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to develop written guidelines, procedures, and policies; and to maintain good working relations. 7. Ability to plan and monitor large and complex engineering or scientific projects; to search out and development new or greatly modified methods and approaches so as to assure applicable objectives, standards, and requirements are met; and to adapt precedents or make significant departures from previous approaches to similar projects in order to provide for specialized requirements of some projects.
