About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer for our Flex Air division, an industry leader in custom industrial mechanical and electrical modular buildings and high-performance HVAC systems. You will design, document, and support electrical/electromechanical solutions for commercial and industrial HVAC, hydronic plants, utility plants, and electrical power distribution projects. This role includes engineering support for installation, testing, and repair of these systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of custom power and controls systems for diverse industries and applications.
• Create plans for power distribution networks.
• Perform engineering calculations for power consumption, transformer sizing, conductor sizing, etc.
• Evaluate and select products, components, and equipment to meet performance and safety requirements.
• Create, modify, and maintain 2D/3D CAD data, One-Line Diagrams, product documentation, and bills of materials.
• Assist manufacturing with build issues and troubleshooting.
• Support project management with schedule coordination and customer transmittals.
• Ensure designs comply with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, NEC).
• Review cost estimates and job-specific requirements, reporting discrepancies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution (required).
• 6+ years of Electrical Engineering experience.
• Fundamental knowledge of electrical power and control systems.
• Strong root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to interact and provide direction to factory electricians.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in industrial and mechanical power systems.
• HVAC system design and controls experience.
• Modular construction and equipment design experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
