Lead Early Childhood Teacher - 2-Year-Old Classroom

The Learning Experience – Tuckahoe is seeking an experienced Lead Early Childhood Teacher to lead our 2-Year-Old (Preppers) classroom. This is an exciting developmental stage as children rapidly build language skills, independence, confidence, and their first friendships. We're looking for an educator who can provide the structure and nurturing support young children need while making learning engaging, active, and fun.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily routines and learning experiences in our 2-Year-Old classroom
  • Implement The Learning Experience's proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum
  • Create engaging, developmentally appropriate learning activities
  • Support language, cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development
  • Encourage independence, communication, and emerging self-help skills
  • Guide children through meals, toileting readiness, rest time, learning centers, outdoor play, and transitions
  • Use positive guidance to encourage appropriate classroom behaviors and early social skills
  • Maintain a safe, organized, nurturing, and engaging classroom
  • Guide and collaborate with Assistant Teachers
  • Observe children's development and communicate regularly with families
  • Follow all applicable New York childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements

Qualifications

Candidates should meet one of the following education/experience pathways:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, or
  • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, or
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, or
  • High School Diploma with at least five years of relevant early childhood experience

Previous professional experience working with toddlers or two-year-olds is strongly preferred. We're looking for someone who is confident leading a classroom, dependable, nurturing, organized, and passionate about early childhood education.

Pay

$20–$23 per hour (based on experience and credentials)

Schedule

Full-Time, Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
