About the role
WIN Waste Innovations is seeking a Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join our team. This position will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and maintaining electrical, instrumentation, and distributive control equipment throughout the facility.
Responsibilities
- Maintains facility equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Performs preventive, repair, and calibration maintenance procedures safely and professionally.
- Leads, guides, and directs tasks of other technicians.
- Prioritizes work, schedules plans, and follows up on directed assignments.
- Initiates and completes work-orders, requisitions, and documents critical information.
- Responds to and reports to work during off-hours for emergency repairs.
- Travels to other facilities for technical support.
- Takes proactive measures to address improvement opportunities.
- Assists in training other employees.
- Completes corporate and plant training programs within prescribed timeframes.
- Identifies and effectively uses measuring tools for maintenance tasks.
- Follows safety procedures and reports hazards immediately.
- Reads and applies relevant procedures and manuals.
- Works overtime and rotates shifts.
- Communicates clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
- Anticipates and troubleshoots equipment issues, diagnoses problems, and repairs.
- Operates various equipment including industrial forklifts, manlifts, skid steer type loaders, and mobile equipment.
- Uses hand tools and portable power tools safely and effectively.
- Maintains a positive work environment by interacting positively with colleagues, clients, and management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in the Industrial or Power Industry Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Field, or 2 years' experience as a 1st class E&I Technician.
- Licenses required as necessary to comply with State, Environmental, and/or Federal regulatory agencies (if applicable).
Work Environment
- Noise levels in work environment.
- Physical demands: Stand, sit, walk, handle tools, reach, climb, bend, push, pull, crawl, lift 50 lbs, move about plant, operate various equipment, wear personal protective equipment.
- Environmental demands: Access confined spaces and pressure vessels, operate fire extinguishing equipment, access elevated areas, operate 1.5-inch fire hose at 125 psi.
- Required PPE: Negative pressure respirator, positive pressure respirator, self-contained breathing apparatus, hard hat, safety shoes, eye protection, rubber suit and gloves, chemical-resistant suit, heat-resistant outerwear, flame-resistant outerwear, approved hearing protection, gloves, safety harness.
