About the Role
The Lead Dispensary Technician leads the dispensary team by setting a personal example that continuously improves quality, training, and customer experience programs. This role is accountable for executing initiatives that drive sales and enhance customer experience, with a focus on process improvement and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Provides knowledge, expertise, and a personalized experience to each customer by explaining the benefits of premium cannabis products.
- Resolves customer questions or concerns quickly and escalates unresolved issues to management.
- Accurately receives, coordinates, and fulfills customer orders using POS and inventory tracking systems in compliance with company, local, and state policies.
- Adapts to varied sales volumes by maintaining an engaging environment, assisting with stocking, and ensuring the dispensary remains clean, tidy, and operational.
- Meets or exceeds daily sales metrics by following the customer experience selling cycle and providing tailored product suggestions.
- Assists management in ensuring compliance with regulatory and procedural standards.
- Fosters a positive work environment, treating everyone with dignity and respect while promoting curiosity about cannabis.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by management, including maintaining store appearance and cleanliness.
Requirements
- Must stay current and adhere to all state cannabis agency policies and regulations.
- Must meet the age requirement as outlined by the state cannabis agency.
- Able to pass all background checks required by the state cannabis agency.
- Able to accommodate scheduling that may include varied shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Must maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with customers, caregivers, and team members.
- Prior customer service experience in hospitality, pharmacy, retail, or a similar fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 21 years of age (or as required by state regulations).
- Minimum 2 years of customer service experience in a fast-paced retail environment.

Working Conditions
- Work is primarily performed in a dispensary setting, which may be odorous, loud (due to fans/filtration), and subject to fluctuating temperatures.
- Frequent contact with staff, vendors, customers, law enforcement, and state inspectors.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently communicates with customers/caregivers about medical conditions and product information.
- Operates computers/POS systems, printers, phones, and other office equipment.
- Must remain stationary during customer check-ins or register operation.
- Constantly moves and transports dispensary products/totes up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to twist, turn, bend, stand, and walk as required for dispensary duties.
