Lead Diesel Mechanic

Responsibilities

  • Ensure maintenance and non-maintenance activities for assigned terminals and locations are completed according to the shop schedule
  • Inspect work performed by LSPT Maintenance Technicians and third-party maintenance shops to ensure work is performed according to LSPT procedures and provide feedback regarding deficiencies, if applicable
  • Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all company equipment as needed/required
  • Complete preventive maintenance on all equipment and prove trailers as scheduled
  • Maintain maintenance logs according to requirements
  • Complete all work in a safe, effective, and timely manner consistent with company safety policies and performance standards
  • Effectively train assigned technicians and third-party maintenance personnel
  • Perform other duties as required by direct supervisor or other terminal management

Qualifications

  • 3+ years direct, hands-on experience working on tank trailers, van trailers, flatbed trailers and all related parts, systems, etc.
  • Associate degree in Automotive Technology or related field or high school diploma and 2+ years direct, hands-on experience as a commercial Class 8 tractor mechanic
  • Current CDL with tanker and hazardous materials endorsements
