Lead Dental Assistant

About the Role

As a Lead Dental Assistant at CHOICE Healthcare Services, you will support dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; and performing procedures in compliance with New Mexico dental standards. Responsibilities

  • Lead Responsibilities:
    • Supervise and train new and current Back Office employees.
    • Review charts daily to ensure assistants complete chart information accurately.
    • Resolve daily audits by facilitating corrections or identifying responsible team members.
    • Perform Practice Manager duties in their absence, including staff scheduling, tracking hours, coordinating days off, and monitoring overtime.
    • Work with the Practice Manager to facilitate the back office staff schedule.
    • Review and enforce CHOICE Healthcare Services' Employee Manual & Policy Notices.
    • Maintain office flow to ensure patient wait times do not exceed 15 minutes in the waiting room and no more than 1 hour total chair time in the back office.
    • Utilize downtime to recover operations, open bay areas, and sterilization tasks.
    • Schedule and track externship and new employee hours, complete evaluations, conduct reviews with instructors, and support assistants during intern training.
    • Train new employees to ensure excellent performance and success.
    • Coordinate routine inventory checks and orders using the standard Master Price List, and communicate with the Procurement Team.
    • Work with HR and the Practice Manager to coordinate OSHA responsibilities, maintain required logs, and ensure compliance with postings, deadlines, and standards.

Requirements

  • Certification from a dental college or three to six months of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred).
  • 1+ years of dental back office lead or supervisory experience.

Qualifications

  • Required Certificates or Licenses:
    • X-Ray New Mexico certification with license number.
    • BLS certification.
  • Preferred Certificates or Licenses:
    • Topical Fluoride New Mexico Certification.
    • Sealant New Mexico Certification.
    • Coronal Polish New Mexico Certification with license number.

Pay

Sign-on bonus of $2,000.
