About the Role

At Chandler Dentistry, led by Dr. James Grover, we have built a true "dental oasis" in the South Chandler area. Our high-tech, modern 5-operatory facility—featuring 2 dedicated surgical suites—provides comprehensive family, cosmetic, sedation, and implant dentistry under one roof. We are looking for an action-oriented, self-starting Lead Dental Assistant who takes initiative, utilizes clinical downtime effectively, and takes pride in elevating both patient care and team morale.

Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Team Mentorship

• Supervise, coach, and mentor dental assistants, training new team members on office protocols and chairside standards.
• Assign daily operatory duties, coordinate assistant floor coverage, and foster a collaborative, positive team atmosphere.
• Serve as a self-starter who proactively utilizes schedule gaps and downtime to support sterilization, room turnarounds, and hygiene support.

Clinical & Chairside Excellence

• Deliver 5-star chairside assisting across a broad scope of procedures (general, cosmetic, endo, oral surgery, and dental implants).
• Capture high-quality digital X-rays (3D CBCT / Dexis) and digital intraoral scans.
• Perform impressions, fabricate high-quality temporary restorations, and educate patients on post-operative care and hygiene.
• Assist both Dr. Grover and our Hygiene team seamlessly to support efficient patient flow and help present and convert same-day treatment.

Operations, Inventory & Compliance

• Oversee sterilization workflows, instrument processing, and strict OSHA, CDC, and HIPAA compliance protocols.
• Manage clinical supply inventory, order dental supplies within budget, and oversee routine dental equipment maintenance.
• Partner with practice management and front-desk staff to maintain a full, balanced daily schedule.

Requirements

• Active Arizona Dental Assistant Certification required.
• Active Arizona X-Ray Certification required.
• Active CPR/BLS Certification required.
• Active Arizona Coronal Polish Certification required.
• 2+ years of chairside dental assisting experience required; prior lead assistant or clinical supervisory experience preferred.
• Proficiency with dental software, digital imaging (3D CBCT, intraoral scanners), and temporary crown fabrication.

Schedule

• Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• (Note: Friday hours 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM may be added in the Fall!)

Pay

$26.00 – $28.00 / hour (DOE) + Monthly Team Performance Bonus Potential
