This hourly position supports the operations leadership team by contributing to labor allocation, leading meetings, assigning job duties, coaching for success, creating a safe & collaborative work environment, and driving process improvement. The role will be very technical and require strong problem-solving skills. Leads will work closely with department supervisors to monitor work flows, manage dwells, and drive overall shift performance.
Key Relationships
- Internal: Operations leadership team, Supervisors & Human Resources
- External: Distribution consumers and stakeholders, Operations shift management, Other internal departments
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with supervisor to lead a team of up to 50 hourly associates
- Understand and act as a role model in following all standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Develop and maintain a safe work environment
- Reward and recognize performance
- Train and coach associates to achieve all operational goals and service levels
- Mentor and develop teammates to perform better in their current roles while preparing them for future career opportunities
- Develop and share best practices
- Create a positive team environment that encourages all associates to provide insights and feedback to improve processes, adapt to an ever-changing business, and stay focused on customer satisfaction
- Utilize warehouse tools, including radio frequency hand held units (“RF Guns”) and computer kiosks, to update transactions within the warehouse management system (WMS) and log activities in the labor management (LM) module
Requirements
- Required to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language

- Strong knowledge of DC operations, including storage methods and material flow
- Performance and metrics driven mindset
- Excel, Outlook, Word and working knowledge of WMS principles
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years related distribution experience and/or training
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to talk or hear; stand or walk; use fingers, hands and arms to feel, handle, grip, grasp, lift, push and pull for up to twelve (12) hours/day
- Able to work in a warehouse environment and operate powered industrial equipment as required
- Able to reliably attend work/scheduled hours
- Occasionally required to sit; bending, twisting, climb or balance; lift and carry items such as boxes weighing up to forty (40) pounds; and stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
Schedule
Front Half Night: Sunday - Wednesday, 6:00 PM - 4:30 AM
