Lead DC Associate - 2nd Shift

This role supports distribution center operations and assists management by serving as the first line of support for associates. Depending on facility size and volume, the role may involve specialized tasks or a generalized function across all departments.

Responsibilities

• Coach and train lower-level associates on proper execution of distribution center duties, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate detailed knowledge of all distribution center roles and operate in all aspects of distribution center operations.
• Safely operate forklifts or other machinery to load, unload, sort, pick, stock, stage, and transport goods.
• Operate pallet jacks or similar equipment for unloading, sorting, staging, and transporting products.
• Verify and enter data into systems accurately.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Stock products in designated locations or locate items to fulfill customer orders while meeting productivity and accuracy goals.
• Perform tasks such as receiving, returns, inventory management, order layout, data entry, and loading trucks, considering cubic weight, size, and load characteristics.
• Conduct safety inspections, provide safety training, enforce safety policies, maintain a clean work environment, manage hazardous materials, and develop emergency evacuation plans.
• Assist with supervisory duties, including training, delegating tasks, and reviewing the work of junior associates (without hiring/firing authority).
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Technical certification or associate degree may be required in some areas.
• Generally 7+ years of experience in a related role.
• Forklift certification required.
• Experience leading staff, handling supervisory duties, and a strong background in training and coaching.
• Must be available to work 3pm–11:30pm, Monday–Friday.

Work Environment

• Located in a comfortable indoor area; unpleasant conditions are infrequent and not objectionable.
• Mostly sedentary with frequent opportunities to move; occasional need to move or lift light articles.
• Overnight travel is typically less than 10% of the time.

Pay

For California job seekers, the pay range is $23.50–$32.80 per hour. This range is based on market data and internal pay practices. Individual base pay is determined by experience, skills, and internal equity.
