Lead Data Center Fiber Technician - Burlington, TX ONSITE - W2 Only

About the role

Location: Burlington, TX (ONSITE). Duration: 6 Months Contract to full-time hire. Work authorization: Any work authorization can apply. Training: New hires attend a two-week training course before starting on-site.

Responsibilities

• Assign daily work, guide technicians, and track crew progress.
• Oversee fiber installation, routing, termination, splicing, and testing.
• Coordinate structured cabling, fiber trays, ladder racks, and cable pathways.
• Read blueprints, cable schedules, and network diagrams.
• Check cable labeling, documentation, test results, and installation quality.
• Share progress, issues, and safety updates with project leadership.
• Promote safe work practices and follow OSHA and site‑specific requirements.

Requirements

• Experience leading or supervising fiber, low‑voltage, or structured cabling crews.
• Strong knowledge of fiber‑optic installation and construction practices.
• Hands‑on experience with single‑mode and multimode fiber; splicing, termination, or testing experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with OTDRs, power meters, or visual fault locators (VFL).
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and communicate clearly with a team.
• Data center experience is preferred; related field or construction experience is also relevant.

Qualifications

A working lead or foreman with fiber‑optic or structured‑cabling experience who has coordinated a crew ideally in a data center or construction setting and can balance hands‑on technical oversight with safety, quality, and daily progress tracking.
