About the Role
As the Senior Architect, you will serve as the definitive technical authority for a large-scale AI data-product platform. You will own the architectural lifecycle from initial discovery and technical spikes to the comprehensive design baseline. This role involves defining the structural design for a multi-cloud environment, ensuring high availability, and managing complex system integrations. You will act as the primary escalation point for architectural decisions, balancing strict scalability requirements with robust identity and entitlement management to support enterprise-grade AI training and inference. You will build a next-generation AI Data-Product Platform that transitions the client from one-time file shipments to governed, ongoing access for data-products used in AI training, inference, and evaluation. The solution involves building a shared Google Cloud Platform (GCP) foundation that integrates heavily with existing AWS, Fastly, and Snowflake systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery phases and architecture spikes to establish a comprehensive technical design baseline.
- Author and maintain solution design documents and architecture decision records for a high-scale data platform.
- Architect a shared cloud foundation and tenant-isolated pipelines for processing petabyte-scale data intakes.
- Design high-availability access services and query APIs capable of supporting concurrent enterprise AI workloads.
- Integrate complex cross-cloud systems to ensure secure data flow between disparate storage and event-streaming platforms.
- Develop robust entitlement and identity management services to enforce business rules and data access controls.
- Facilitate technical workshops and design conversations with key stakeholders to align project goals.
Requirements
- Extensive experience designing enterprise-scale data platforms in multi-cloud environments.
- Proven track record of integrating complex data systems, high-throughput event streams, and metadata repositories.
- Advanced proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and designing portable, containerized environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in architecting high-availability RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and large-scale data delivery mechanisms.
- Deep understanding of security frameworks, including tenant isolation, identity and access management (IAM), and complex entitlement logic.
- Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to document and defend architectural decisions to stakeholders.
Nice to Haves
- Familiarity with AI/ML data workflows, batch processing pipelines, and embedding generation.
- Previous experience building data marketplaces or data-as-a-service (DaaS) platforms.
