Essential Duties

• Provide prompt, courteous, and friendly customer service; greet and thank customers
• Assist customers with suggestions and recommendations
• Operate cash register accurately; handle money, checks, and other payments
• Perform multi-function operation of fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, telecom transactions
• Report to work on time and follow dress and appearance code
• Maintain store cleanliness inside and out; clean equipment; inspect facilities for safety and proper working order
• Contact maintenance for repairs as needed
• Complete build-to's for ordering/purchasing merchandise
• Receive and verify vendor deliveries
• Maintain adequate stock throughout store and rotate stock properly
• Place advertising and pricing signage inside and outside the facility
• Control merchandise, cash shortages, and other selling expenses
• Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels and shift audits
• Monitor shift sales, cash handling procedures, and daily close-out functions
• Notify Store Manager of any sales, cash, inventory, or operating discrepancies
• Follow company guidelines for product breakage or spoilage
• Supervise customer service representatives in absence of Store Assistant Manager
• Coach and train new employees on operating, conduct, and performance standards
• Monitor customer traffic and adjust staffing as needed
• Assist with employee counseling and performance feedback
• Know gasoline pricing strategy and change gasoline prices correctly
• Report all incidents (injuries, theft, property damage, improper sanitation/waste disposal) to Store Manager
• Report unsafe, unlawful, or unethical conduct
• Perform shift change duties: count cash drawer, record employee purchases, complete shift reports
• Ensure accurate timekeeping records
• Take inventory of supplies and equipment as needed
• Attend job-related meetings (may require irregular hours)
• Provide regular and predictable onsite attendance
• Complete daily store reports and other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Retail sales experience preferred
• Ability to work as scheduled including arriving on time
• Ability to communicate information and ideas effectively
• Ability to perform four basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) preferred
• Ability to perform essential physical functions and work in described conditions

Physical Requirements

• Exposure to cold or warm temperature extremes; occasional work in walk-in cooler and/or freezer and outdoors
