Lead Customer Service Representative

About the role

Store located at 119 Bair Boulevard, New Stanton, Pennsylvania 15672. Full‑time position with flexible shift availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt excellent customer service; greet and thank customers; offer suggestions; ring up sales accurately handling cash, checks, and other payments.
• Operate fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, telecom transactions, etc.
• Maintain store cleanliness inside and out; perform housekeeping duties; inspect facilities and equipment for safety and proper working order; contact maintenance for repairs.
• Receive and verify vendor deliveries; maintain adequate stock; rotate stock; place advertising and pricing signage.
• Control merchandise, cash shortages, and selling expenses; assist with inventory levels and shift audits.
• Monitor shift sales, cash handling procedures, daily close‑out; notify store manager of discrepancies.
• Supervise customer service representatives in absence of assistant manager; coach and train new employees; monitor traffic and adjust staffing; assist with employee counseling and feedback.
• Know gasoline pricing strategy and adjust prices correctly.
• Report incidents (injuries, theft, property damage, improper sanitation) to store manager; report unsafe, unlawful, or unethical conduct.
• Perform shift change duties: count cash drawer, record employee purchases, complete end‑of‑shift reports; keep accurate time‑keeping records; may take inventory of supplies and equipment; attend job‑related meetings; provide regular onsite attendance; complete daily store reports and other assigned duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in retail sales preferred.
• Ability to work with the equipment, tools, and materials listed (cash register, fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, telecom transactions, etc.).
• Ability to work as scheduled, arriving on time.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly.
• Ability to perform the four basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) preferred.
• Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described.
• Ability to work in the conditions described.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to be exposed to cold or warm temperature extremes, occasional work in walk‑in cooler/freezer and outdoors.
• Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead.
• Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist.
• Grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands for entire shift (requires eye‑hand coordination).
• Push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds (e.g., using a hand‑truck).
• Reach overhead for objects.
• Bend and twist at waist.
• Communicate orally.
• Operate a cash register and/or computer keyboard.
• Stoop, kneel, squat, bend, push, and pull.
• Ability to work alone.
• Exposed to occasional noise.
• Stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
• May require climbing a ladder to store/retrieve materials or place/remove signs.

Work Environment

Approximately 95% of work performed indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks such as cleaning parking lots, gas pumps, and taking out garbage. Exposure to extreme cold temperatures while working in walk‑in cooler/freezer. Occasional noise. Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision.

Pay

Hiring range: $17.50 to $18.00 per hour.
