LEAD CUSTOMER SERVICE OPERATOR

About the role

The Lead Customer Service Operator - Communications position at Archbold Medical Center is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing switchboard operations, and ensuring seamless communication within the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Operate telephone switchboards and consoles to connect, hold, transfer and disconnect telephone calls.
• Carry out code response protocols, alarm notifications and overhead announcements.
• Carry out other clerical, secretarial or receptionist duties as required.
• Trains other operators on hospital telephone switchboard and related applications to assist callers to make telephone connections and to relay incoming, outgoing and inter-office calls.
• Manages Switchboard staff shift schedules.
• Manages the Provide on-call scheduling system.
• Maintains a centralized source for information enabling operators to cover outages, emergencies and disasters, which effect disruption of telephone service to the hospital.
• Performs QA studies and maintains logs to facilitate best customer service practices in regards to the department.
• Assists with system administration, system security, system configuration, issue resolution, data mining, testing activities and project implementations under the direction of IS Leadership and Project Manager.

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma required. Experience: Switchboard or Customer Service experience preferred. Management Experience Preferred.

Skills

• Good communication skills
• A good understanding of the English language, both written and spoken.
• Able to work quickly and accurately.
• Able to help customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Advanced computer application skills required.
• Basic understanding of telecommunication equipment and ability to troubleshoot/resolve issues.
• Able to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the work at all levels with a focus on quality service to internal and external customers.
