Lead Custodian (Norfolk - Evening)

TCC is the largest provider of higher education and workforce services in Hampton Roads, enrolling nearly 25,000 students in 2024-25.
Responsibilities
Provides a full range of custodial/ housekeeping services for college facilities to include, but not limited to, trash removal, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sweeping, floor stripping and waxing, carpet cleaning, window cleaning, black/white-board cleaning, etc. Provides room set-up/take-down assistance as assigned. Performs other cleaning tasks as assigned. Maintain and demonstrate good attendance habits. Reports any problems to Managers when necessary. Assist Custodial Manager in selecting, training, supervising and evaluating other housekeepers.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of the principles and practices of janitorial, custodial, and housekeeping services, sanitizing techniques to include floor and carpet care and maintenance
- Knowledge of custodial operations and industry standards
- Ability to climb ladders without assistance
- Ability to lift objects not more than 50 lbs
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience in a janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping operations as a shift leader
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include experience in a multi-building housekeeping operation and experience in a college or university environment.
Skills
Operation of a State Vehicle is required. Supervision of employees is also required.
Benefits
The hiring range for this position is $30,900 - $39,440, commensurate with experience.

Schedule
The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 3:00pm – 11:30pm, including occasional weekends as required.
